Richard Gere is recovering from pneumonia he contracted while on a family vacation in Mexico. According to his wife, Alejandra, the actor is recovering from a health scare.

Richard, Alejandra, and their children are celebrating Alejandra's 40th birthday with a beach vacation in Mexico. Richard, 73, ended up with pneumonia after nearly the entire family became ill.Alejandra took to Instagram on Sunday to address reports of her husband's health and reassure fans that he would be fine.

"I woke up this morning and saw the news and all your kind and worried messages, he is recovering," she wrote, alongside a photo of herself and Richard walking with their 4-year-old son, Alexander, in hand.
