The 75th Directors Guild of America Awards took place on February 18 in Beverly Hills, California. The event was attended by Michelle Williams, Christina Ricci, Anna Kendrick, James Marsden, Ben Stiller, Stephanie Xu, Aubrey Plaza, Paul Dano and other film industry stars.
Sam Levinson won the award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Euphoria's second season episode "Freeze Like a Hummingbird". Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series: Bill Hader (Barry) In the Television Movie or Miniseries category, the Best Director award went to Helen Shaver, who directed the eighth episode of Who's There? series "Station Eleven".
Historically, the Directors Guild of America award is considered a harbinger of success at the Oscars. For 74 years, the winners in the nomination "Best Director" did not match only eight times.
The main prize was given to the creators of the film "Everywhere and at once" Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. The film was previously nominated for an Oscar in 11 categories. The award for the best debut was awarded to Charlotte Wells ("My Sunshine").
